RESTAURANT REVIEW: Bruno's in Seagrove offers a pizza pie that will catch your eye

Florida Freedom Newspapers

For 19 years, Bruno’s has been serving a variety of pizza pies along Scenic Highway 30A. Whether diners decide to eat in or have their pizza delivered, Bruno’s well-rounded menu with freshly made dough and sauce should please any appetite.

The food

Aside from their pies, Brunos offers a variety of appetizers, subs, salads, and even lasagna and calzones.

Their pizza toppings range from the usual pepperoni, sausage, onions, Canadian bacon and sausage, to the gourmet artichoke hearts, feta cheese and spinach.

Some of their specialty pizza are unique with varieties such as the 4 Alarm Fire, which is topped with green peppers, banana peppers, pepperoncini peppers, jalapenos and crushed red pepper.

There’s also the Ultra Veggie, which is loaded with baby portobello mushrooms, sauteed green peppers and purple onions, green olives, black olives, roma tomatoes, artichoke hearts, spinach and broccoli.

There are 10 other specialty pizzas, such as the Smokehouse, White pizza, Chicken Supreme, Philly, Mexican, Supreme, Meat Lover’s, Hawaiian and Greco, to choose from on the menu.

The subs come with a choice of one ham, chicken fajita strips, Philly style steak, meatball, barbecue chicken, or veggies piled high on homemade oven-baked pizza bread and topped with purple onions, banana peppers, mozzarella cheese with spring mix, grape tomatoes, mayo and mustard on the side.

My lunch date and I opted for the pepperoni pie. I know, not very adventurous, but we really like a good pepperoni pizza.

If you want variety, stop by Bruno’s from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday for their all-you-can-eat pizza buffet. For $6.54, you get all the pizza, salad and drink you want.

Bruno’s also serves beer, which goes with the football on the TVs surrounding the dining area.

The atmosphere

The main goal here is to eat. Since a good deal of the business is take-out, the dining area is pretty small.

Long tables are set up that let you cozy up to strangers.

Daily, there’s a trivia question that if you get right, your buffet meal is free.

The service

Our food was brought out quickly, and our server was friendly.

A final taste

If you live on 30A, or are just visiting for the day and want a cheap, delicious meal, stop by Bruno’s and pick up a pie.
