All your eggs in one basket? Area Easter events abound

The Easter Bunny made an appearance at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party held April 4 at Destin Commons.

From Kids Fest at HarborWalk to the annual city egg hunts at the library and Morgan Sports Center, Destin is ready to put on the pastels. Here is a list of all the Eggs-citing happenings around the area this week — Easter bonnet is optional.

Cuddlers and Toddlers Easter Egg Hunt
The Destin Library, 150 Sibert Ave., has scheduled its annual Cuddlers and Toddlers Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 4 and under from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. April 9. Pre-registration is required and may be made in person at the library or by calling 837-8572.
Activities will include the traditional Easter Egg Hunt, door prizes, a visit by the Easter Bunny, free balloons, and more. In case of inclement weather the program will be held inside the library.

Easter Egg Hunt in Walton County
The Friends of the Coastal Branch Library will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt from 11 a.m. to noon April 9 at 437 Greenway Trail. A party with refreshments will follow. Call 267-2809.

Fort Walton Beach Egg Hunt
The city of Fort Walton Beach will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Fort Walton Landing at 10 a.m. April 9 for children 5 and under. Bring basket or container for collecting the eggs.  Call 833-9577. 

Easter at Grand Boulevard
Visit the Easter Bunny from 11 a.m. to noon at Pretty Please and 4 to 5 p.m. at Learning Express on April 10 and from 11 a.m. to noon at Learning Express and 4 to 5 p.m. at Pretty Please on April 11. Call 650-5988.
   
Easter at Uptown Station
Destin’s Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge will create an Easter Village in their Education Exhibition Center in Uptown Station in Fort Walton Beach from 12 to 8 p.m. April 10 and 11.
For $5 donation to The Wildlife Refuge kids can visit the village, meet the Easter Bunny, design an Easter Treat, plant a flower and ride the Uptown Express Train. For $12, a photo with the bunny and an Easter craft will be included.
At 7.30 p.m. April 11, a drive in style movie, Kung Fu Panda, can be seen. Bring blankets and lawn chairs; no pets or alcohol.

Destin’s Easter egg hunt
The city will hold Destin’s annual Easter Egg Hunt for ages 12 and under beginning at 9:15 a.m. April 11 at the Morgan Sports Center. There will be a special egg hunting zone for crawlers and toddlers. Call 650-1241.

Easter Explosion
Meet the Easter Bunny and take part in facepainting and a scavenger hunt from 12 to 3 p.m. April 11 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf.

Kids Fest at HarborWalk Village
The inaugural Kids Fest will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. April 11 at HarborWalk Village in Destin. Enjoy hands-on activities, entertainment, fish painting, kite making, sidewalk murals, inflatable’s, jewelry making, demonstrations from local artisans, kids’ karaoke contest and more.
On Sunday, the whole family can enjoy the Easter Eggtravaganza on the harbor from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a Bunny Buffet in the Emerald Grande Ballroom where kids can visit the Easter Bunny and receive a complimentary photo. For buffet reservations call 1-800-676-0091. An Egg Hunt in the Village follows from 2 to 3 p.m. with prizes and discounts from HarborWalk Village stores and restaurants.
