Fall in love again at the Henderson Park Inn

Destin’s most romantic inn is showing locals some love this month.

For the entire month of March, locals can stay at the all-inclusive Henderson Park Inn for only $200 per night. The deal gives couples on a budget the opportunity to experience the place that was named the Most Romantic Weekend Getaway in Florida by “The Official Best Of” Web site in 2010.

“When couples check in, there’s a bottle of wine, grapes, fresh flowers and romantic music playing in their rooms,” said Innkeeper Ryan Olin. “It’s adults only and all inclusive. They never have to worry about anything.”

After snacking on homemade cookies and lemonade at the front desk when they check in, couples will be guided to the beach, which stretches undisturbed for two miles in one direction, as the Inn sits next to a state park. Olin said couples can walk hand-in-hand down the beach or just watch the surf from their balconies. They can even check in at the front desk for a picnic style lunch to be eaten on the patio when they get hungry.

And visitors won’t even have to go inside for drink refills, as dedicated employees who spend their time pampering guests will walk the patio providing for every need. Olin said his staff is proactive and accommodating.

If a front desk clerk overhears a couple talking about going to see a movie, she will print up movie listings and send it to their room without even being asked.

At sunset, couples crowd around the Tiki hut to mingle with other guests at happy hour. Olin said visitors make lifelong friends there, coming back to the inn together year after year. For dinner, couples can treat themselves to a meal prepared by chef Tim Creehan at Beach Walk Café. And a fabulous breakfast is served in the dining room every morning.

“This place touched my heart as soon as I walked in,” said Judy Allen of Monticello, whose husband, Dan, surprised her with a getaway to the inn after she retired from teaching. “I said ‘oh Dan, you did good.’ We will definitely be back.”
