Bridgeway Senior Program
Bridgeway Senior Program will deliver the following meals the week of Nov. 30-Dec. 4:
•Monday: Country fried steak.
•Tuesday: Grilled pork patty.
•Wednesday: Turkey pot pie.

•Friday: Oven fried chicken.

Burn the mortgage fish fry
The Destin Fishing Fleet Marina will hold a fish fry to celebrate paying off the mortgage beginning at 4 p.m. Nov. 29 at 210 Harbor Blvd. All donations will go toward fighting the ban on amberjack and red snapper fishing.

Census testing
It is recommended that the sample practice test at  http://2010.census.gov/2010censusjobs be taken prior to official testing to ensure making the highest score possible. Job selection criteria will include rank ordered test scores.
Job testing will take place in Destin at the following times: 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 30, Community Center; 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dec. 2, Library; 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dec. 4, Community Center; 9 a.m. Dec. 9, Library; and 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Dec. 11, Community Center.

Boating seminar

Sacred Heart Hospital

DC Kid’s Club Read & Grow
Destin Commons’ Kids Club will feature Read ‘n Grow, geared to children from 3- to 6-years old from 10 to 11 a.m. Dec. 3 at the Playground.
Kids can use their imagination to design their own snowman inspired by the work of Norman Rockwell.

Fundraiser
The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and Jake's House are teaming up to benefit arts, education and children in need.
Shop at Jake's House, Your Life is Good Neighborhood Shoppe, located in Destin Commons, Dec. 4-6 and mention that you support the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation.
Ten percent of your purchase will be donated to further arts and education in our community. Jake's House will also donate an additional 10 percent to the Life is Good Kids Foundation, which supports charities that create a lasting positive impact on children facing unfair challenges, including trauma of violence, poverty and loss.

FairTax legislation presentation

Saturday Morning Science

Fundraiser
Club Overboard and The Twisted Palm Grill & Bar will host a fashion show with a buffet dinner to benefit The American Cancer Society on Dec.  19 at Club Overboard & Studio 98. The fashion show will highlight the area’s local stores and boutiques.
Tables will be made available for $50 for local businesses to promote their goods and/or services.
A silent auction will be held with gift baskets and donations from local businesses. All proceeds will be donated to The American Cancer Society. Call 654-0010.
 
Kids in the Kitchen
Sarah K’s Gourmet and 30a Media Inc will film a regular segment featuring local children ages 4 to 14 who aspire to be chefs. Segment will teach nutrition, cooking skills and math skills while showcasing a young chef.
