The docks are rocking as snapper season opens

DESTIN, FL - It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess what the charter boats will be bringing to the docks today - Red snapper.

June 1 is opening day for red snapper, after a seven month closure.

By 10 a.m. more than a half-dozen boats were already back from their four-hour trips with their limit of red snapper.

Many more boats were still out, and some of the ones who had early trips were booked to go out again this afternoon.

The limit per person for red snapper, is two.
