US98 Soccer Club at WaterSound
WATERSOUND - The US98 Soccer Club, for the first half of its fall season, will be hosted by the St. Joe Company's WaterSound residential community at its four-and-a-half acre Wind Garden Park through Oct. 25.
Founded in January 2008, the Club, a non-profit, community-focused and community-run soccer program, is playing at US98 Soccer Fields East, located near WaterSound's Village Center. More than 250 players, coming from as far east as Panama City Beach to Destin, have signed up for the Fall 2008 season. The second half of the season, Oct. 27 through Nov. 25, will be played at Helen McCall Park in Santa Rosa Beach.
The US98 Soccer Club's mission is making organized and recreational soccer available to the communities in South Walton County and surrounding areas. The club focuses on advocating recreational soccer primarily for community youth, but welcomes all age groups, regardless of skill level or ability.
"We're delighted that St. Joe and the WaterSound community will help our program succeed by hosting our club," said D. Christian Franek, President of US98 Soccer Club. "It's the community spirit at WaterSound, as well as the parents, guardians, volunteers, and local businesses that make South Walton County a great place for community-supported team sports; we look forward to playing a successful, fun fall season."
