Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa has announced the addition of Sushi Chef Sam Sumio Miyashita to their culinary team. In this position, Chef Miyashita will oversee the handcrafted sushi creations at Hadashi, one of the six restaurant outlets on property, and any specialty requests for events that occur in more than 32,000 square feet of indoor and 20,000 square feet of outdoor meeting and banquet space.
“Chef Miyashita brings a wealth of talent and creative culinary skills to the resort,” said Gary Brielmayer, Hilton Sandestin Beach general manager. “His expertise in creating sushi utilizing only the finest available premium ingredients will ‘wow’ our guests, enhancing their overall experience at the resort.”
A veteran in the culinary industry for more than 18 years, Miyashita uses traditional sushi technique fused with a contemporary flair. Miyashita grew up in Japan and was taught traditional Japanese sushi skills while working in his family’s restaurant in Miyazaki, Japan.
He comes to the Hilton Sandestin Beach with experience from a number of sushi restaurants, hotels and resorts, most recently, Marriott Hotel Resort on Marco Island and Ritz-Carlton Hotel Naples, where he was the Sushi Chef and Miami Fontaine Bleau Hotel in Miami where he was the Japanese Sous Chef.
