It’s the perfect time for a nice meal by the beach. At Camille’s in Destin you can take in a gorgeous view of the Gulf of Mexico, while dining on its recent inhabitants.

The food
Camille’s serves fresh seafood favorites such as broiled Gulf shrimp, sautéed grouper and Gulf Coast seafood gumbo.

My guest and I started with the blackened seared yellowfin tuna, which came with a cilantro aioli. The aioli was the perfect balance for the spicy blackening seasonings.

A basket of small, perfectly square and sweet rolls was also offered before our meal.

For dinner, my guest couldn’t decide if she wanted the gumbo or the broiled shrimp. Our waiter immediately offered up a sample of the gumbo.

My friend decided the gumbo was too spicy for her, which I thought was spicy but didn’t set my tongue aflame.

Her broiled shrimp entrée came atop penne pasta with mushrooms and artichokes in a fresh herb and white wine broth and was served with garlic bread. They came in a large bowl, and my friend remarked that she wasn’t sure which there was more of, the pasta or the shrimp.
