Boy attacks another with lunch tray in cafeteria

CRESTVIEW — A 16-year-old boy was arrested May 3 on charges of aggravated battery.

According to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's arrest report, Ja'Kelle Marigue Haygood, a student at Okaloosa Youth Academy, approached another student who was sitting in the cafeteria eating his lunch.

The boy said Haygood grabbed a plastic lunch tray, emptied it of its contents and, without being provoked, swung the lunch tray and hit the boy across the face.

Haygood then threw the tray on the ground and began punching the boy.
