FORT WALTON BEACH – To showcase the work of local artists, the Arts and Design Society presents exhibits in their studio windows facing First Street. In October, the work of Penny MacPherson, sculptor and painter in oils, will be on display. Call 244-1271.

Hops for the House

SANDESTIN – A limited number of tickets are available for ‘Hops for the House’, a beer tasting and dinner, at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at Carrabba’s Italian Grill. Tickets are a $45 donation and include beer tastings, appetizer and dinner, consisting of entrée, side and salad. Workshops

FORT WALTON BEACH – The Arts and Design Society will offer the following workshop at 17 First St. Call 244-1271.
• Paper Cloth: Learn to transform cloth, paper, and glue into basic paper cloth, which may then be used as is or later incorporated into other art forms such as collage, jewelry, ornaments, book covers, etc. from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 4. Cost is $30/ members and $35/non-members plus a $10 supply fee.
• Florals (Acrylics): Loretta Menendian will teach a one-day acrylics class in Florals from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11. Cost is $150/members and $165/non-members. Students provide their own materials; a list will be available at the ADSO office.
• Palm Tree and Beach (Acrylics): Loretta Menendian will teach a one-day acrylics class, the subject of which will be the Beach and Palm Trees, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18. Cost is $150/members and $165/non-members.

Night Vision

FORT WALTON BEACH – An opening reception for Night Vision, an exhibition of art based on nocturnal themes, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Arts and Design Society, 17 First St. The show runs Oct. 2 through Oct. 27. Call 244-1271.
