Papusas with a Purpose: The Kitchenique Cooking School at Cuvee Catering Center, 12590 Emerald Coast Parkway, Suite C, in Miramar Beach will serve Papusas, a traditional Salvadoran dish, and a glass of wine any time between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Dec. 7. All money raised will go to Sus Hijos/His Children, a 501 C-3 non-profit foundation in El Salvador, serving orphaned and abandoned children. Call837-0432.

Family Fun Day/Open House

NationWide Tents N Events celebrates a new location with a Family Fun Day and Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at 726 NW Beal Parkway in Fort Walton Beach. Comedy competition

Crab Island Cantina presents “So You Think You’re Funny,” a comedy competition, at 6 p.m. every Sunday. Competition continues for 15 weeks. Comedians from all over the south will compete.
