The City of Destin provides free public parking options in the harbor district for the 2012 Destin Seafood Festival and Destin Fishing Rodeo. Four city-owned parking lots will be ready for the festivities along the harbor boardwalk during the month of October.
“Our planners have identified parking options for the harbor district and our public services crew has made sure the lots are ready,” said Ken Gallander, community development director, City of Destin. “This is a big month for our businesses along the harbor and it is important that we provide easy access for our residents and visitors to get to them.”
There are four public parking lots on or near U.S.98, providing access to the harbor. Parking in all of these lots is on a first-come, first-served basis and is free. The public is encouraged to use these lots when visiting the new harbor boardwalk throughout the year and especially during the Seafood Festival and Fishing Rodeo.
Public Parking Lots:
Marler Street (corner of Marler Street and U.S. 98)
Destin Community Center
Zerbe Street (corner of Zerbe Street and Sibert Avenue)
There are three designated crosswalks along U.S. 98: Marler Street; across from AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar; and Stahlman Avenue. Please use these crosswalks to cross U.S. 98. The Sheriff’s Posse will be posted at the Marler Street and Stahlman Avenue crosswalks during the Seafood Festival, Oct. 5-7.
