First Baptist Church, 201 Beach Drive in Destin, will host a free movie, “Courageous,” at 5 p.m. Nov. 4 in the sanctuary. A nursery will be provided for babies and toddlers.
“We’re hosting a Courageous movie night, opening our doors wide for the opportunity to make an impact on our community,” Pastor Farren Roper said.
“Courageous is a PG-13 film. Four men, all law enforcement officers, experience a calling to serve and protect. Yet when tragedy strikes home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith and their fathering.”
The showing is free and open to public, no tickets required to attend the full-length feature film.
“We want to offer families a free movie that will entertain and challenge with a powerful family focused message,” Roper said.
Filled with action-packed police drama,”Courageous” is the fourth film from Sherwood Pictures, the moviemaking ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga. Riveted moviegoers will once again find themselves laughing, crying, and cheering as they are challenged and inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kind of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children.
Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That's courageous.
