Win $100K in Shoot Out for Education

Take a swing for $100,000, while lending your support to Destin schools. The Destin Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a $100,000 Shoot Out for Education with qualifying taking place from 9-11 a.m. Oct. 13 and 14 and 4-6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 and 16 at Emerald Bay Golf Club. The cost is $5 for five balls, and you may try as many times as you like. The four closest to a set marker will come back on Oct. 17, to shoot for a hole in one to win $100K.

The Shoot Out finale will take place prior to the Chamber’s Oct. 17 Golf & Dine Tournament, but you do not have to register for the tournament to participate. Anyone wishing to help our local schools is invited to participate. Half of the proceeds generated will go to both Destin Elementary and Destin Middle Schools.

The Golf & Dine, which begins with an 11 a.m. shotgun start, is a four-person scramble. Along the course, golfers may enjoy tastings from area restaurants, including Harry T's Lighthouse, Jet's Pizza of Destin, Landshark's Pizza Company, Poppy's Crazy Lobster, and Ruth's Chris Steak House.

Hole-in-one prizes include a 24-month lease on a Mercedes C-Class (valued at more than $36,000) from Quality Imports - Mercedes Benz - BMW - Toyota - Mazda and an 18-Karat, Fluted Bezel, "DateJust" Rolex Watch (valued at $7,950) from McCaskill & Company. Closest to the pin prizes include vacation stays from ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals and a ladies ceramic watch from McCaskill & Company. The cost is $390 for a 4-person team. This includes greens fees, cart, and lunch.

Golf team with hole sponsors are Emerald Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau, Inc.; Fort Walton Beach Medical Center; Raymond James Financial Services, ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals, Simple HR, Trustmark National Bank; Wal-mart Stores, Inc./Sam's Club, and Warren Averett O'Sullivan Creel. Air Force Enlisted Village and Eglin Federal Credit Union are hole sponsors.
