Snowbird Appreciation Sock Hop

OKALOOSA ISLAND – Twist, cha-cha, mambo and do the mashed potato at the Third Annual Snowbird Appreciation Sock Hop from 7-10 p.m. Feb. 24 for snowbirds and locals. This blast from the past will include live music from Ron Adams as Elvis and the Emerald Gold Band, so hunt up a poodle skirt or some blue suede shoes and enjoy live music, costume and dance contests, door prizes and a cash bar. Tickets are $8/person in advance and $10 at the door. Call 609-3800.

Dining Out For The Arts

MIRAMAR BEACH – Paul Schreiner of Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation will host a charity wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 27 with proceeds to benefit the Foundation’s cultural and education mission in Okaloosa and Walton Counties. Reserve your place at the table for $65 per Foundation member and $75 for non-members. Gratuity is not included. Seating is limited to 30 people on a first-come, first-serve basis. Americana Under the Stars

SANTA ROSA BEACH – Topsail Hill Preserve State Park presents Emmett Carlisle at 7 p.m. Feb. 28 during a new concert series, Americana Under the Stars. Performers follow an open mic showcase of local musicians from 5-6:30 p.m. Must be present to sign up. Admission is free and there is a suggested $5 donation to the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Bring your own food or beverages, if desired.
