DESTIN – The City of Destin will host its annual Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Destin Community Center. The public is invited to join the city council, staff and city partners for the luncheon as the city’s volunteers are honored. A document shredding company will be there for the public to use for free during the event, so bring your old documents to be shredded.

City staff will cook pork loin, hot dogs, hamburgers and veggie burgers for everyone. Lunch will be served buffet-style beginning at 11:30 a.m. Call 837-4242.

Piano recital

NICEVILLE – Northwest Florida State College piano professor Lois Van Dam will present a recital of selected works by the renowned composer Frederic Chopin at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Tyler Recital Hall of the music wing at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on the college campus. Admission is free, but donations toward the college’s piano fund will be accepted. Call 729-5382.

Grand and Exotic Car Show

SANDESTIN – Destin’s Grand and Exotic Car Show & Rally will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 27 in Town Center at Grand Boulevard.

Presented by Motorfest Magazine and featuring the Destin Car Club and Smith Motorworks, more than 100 of the finest and most exotic cars around including Porsches, Lamborghinis, Lotus, Ferraris and Maseratis will line the boulevard. Admission is free. Proceeds benefit Children in Crisis.
