Destin Festival of the Arts
DESTIN – The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation will present the 17th Annual Destin Festival of the Arts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 at Henderson Beach State Park. This signature event features more than 100 artists from around the United States who will exhibit in more than 18 different mediums competing for more than $9,000 in cash prizes. Other amenities are live musical entertainment, a bistro-style food court, Kid’s ArtStop and festival merchandise. A Collaborative Art Exhibit showcases more than 40 community artists representing students and adults. Admission is $3/adult and kids under 12 are free. Call 650-2226.
NICEVILLE – Northwest Florida State College piano professor Lois Van Dam will present a recital of selected works by the renowned composer Frederic Chopin at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Tyler Recital Hall of the music wing at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on the college campus. Grand and Exotic Car Show
SANDESTIN – Destin’s Grand and Exotic Car Show & Rally will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 27 in Town Center at Grand Boulevard. Presented by Motorfest Magazine and featuring the Destin Car Club and Smith Motorworks, more than 100 of the finest and most exotic cars around including Porsches, Lamborghinis, Lotus, Ferraris and Maseratis will line the boulevard. Window Gallery Display

Pastel Society Juried Exhibition
NICEVILLE – The Pastel Society of North Florida will host its 12th Biennial National Juried All-Pastel Exhibition Oct. 28 to Nov. 30 at Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries, 100 College Blvd. at Northwest Florida State College. Life's a Beach
FORT WALTON BEACH – The Arts and Design Society, 17 First Street, SE, hosts the exhibition of the Life's a Beach publications' annual cover competition, featuring colorful paintings reflecting the beach environment, from Oct. 30-Nov. 9. Baytowne on Ice
SANDESTIN – The ice skating rink at The Village of Baytowne Wharf will be open Nov. 1 through Jan. 31 at the Apex Broadcasting Skating Pavilion. For $10 guests can skate for an hour and a half. Skate rental is $2. The first hour of each day is reserved for "kids skate" for youth 12 and under. Season passes are available for $140. During November bring two non-perishable cans of food for Harvest House of Destin and receive a free skate rental. Call 816-682-1003 for times and special skating packages.
Telluride Mountain Film Festival
SANTA ROSE BEACH ¬– Celebrate the 12th Annual Film Festival at WaterColor Inn & Resort Nov. 2-3. Festival gates open at 6 p.m. and films begin at 7 p.m. at the Marina Park Amphitheater under the stars. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Two night admission in advance is $65/adult and $50/child. At the gate, single night is $45/adult and $40/child. Two night is $85/adult and $75/child. Homecoming Air Show
PENSACOLA – The Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, will close the 2012 season at their annual Homecoming Air Show Nov. 2 and 3 aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola. The show is open to the public and gate admission is free. Gates open at 8 a.m. each day.
The show begins at 9:30 a.m., with the Blue Angel Flight Demonstration Team scheduled to fly around 2 p.m.
A free concert after the Saturday show features Big and Rich, with guests Cowboy Troy and Bradley Gaskin. The opening act, "The El Dorados," take the stage at 4 p.m. No seating is provided, so bring chairs or blankets.
